Today in the year 2020, "I assume" science is believed stronger as a truth with authority, than is religion. But back in the old days "I assume" religion was the stronger belief of the common folk.
When the 9-11 attack occurred. There was at least one popular, well educated scientist that had mentioned to the public that jet fuel cannot melt the hardened steel framework of the Twin Towers. Then a short time passes by, and that scientist changed his tune, and does a 180° turn on his previous statements.
These kind of changes reveal to me that the higher educated are constantly using their clout to influence the uneducated masses through the media. This also proves that the scientists have an authority overshadowing the information that they submit to the general public. So they have to also mind their "p's" & "q's" in order to keep their careers in good standing in both the public's eye and their big brother's eye. This means that truth is not the authority in any political scuffle.
Now days Science has taken the place in the minds of men as a figure of authority... to be feared.
But is my opinion completely true? I recently learned through an NPR radio broadcast that many religious American's do not believe very strongly in the scientific views that are currently being introduced to the public via the popular televised news media outlets.
