I have been on a rant lately. It is concerning simple quotes that people today accept as wisdoms. There was one particular biblical quote that opened my eyes to an interesting reality. It is the biblical quote which is found in the book of Acts Chapter 20 Verse 35. It reads: "It is more blessed to give than to receive." The short version is commonly known as: "It is better to give than to receive." You hear this quote quite often if and when you watch a televangelist broadcast, or attend a church sermon. In my opinion it is a sales pitch, and a subliminal influence to cause the listeners to open their wallets to give to the church or organization. And it works for that particular cause. If that was or wasn't the intention of the person preaching the biblical parable.

But recently I watched the movie titled: Donnie Darko. In the movie, there is a part when Donnie mentions that the act of destruction is also the act of creation. This was an eye opening statement to my feeble mind. I had realized that these two words were paradoxes. Each word means two things that are contradictory in nature.

That caused me to do the same comparison to the words giving, and taking. Thus the reality of the biblical parable in Acts 20:35.

One reason I have come to this conclusion concerning giving and taking. Is due to a YouTube video documentary I just watched.  They are stealing the futures of Americans.  The name of the video is, "Why bankers are like time travelers who grab value from the future | Yanis Varoufakis."

Here is the video about bankers being time travelers. Pay close attention to his words used at the end of the video. He says; "Socialism for the bankers and austerity for everybody else."

Yes these are also considered to be oxymorons. I do realize that I may be confused on the subject of oxymorons and my created term paradox quote. But it was worth the adventure of investigation, and learning.
